That’s about it. Although there are methods that can be combined.
I’m an online person so, if your business is online based you can also use a dedicated URL in your print ad. Furthermore if your print ads are distributed to a specific location then you can use some sophisticated traffic solution and compare your reach by zip code, city or state.

admin answers:

My connect as far as continued loyalty always rests on the owner/manager–they have to be “good” folks…they are also reflected thru their employees–I enjoy shopping around people who are consistently happy to be there, & consistently there period–shows solid business ethics.

Of course, what gets me into a place to begin with??? A fabulous “SALE” sign will definitely get my attention…then I look at the “dressing” of the shop–the window displays, the outside offerings (if available)…if still attracted, I’ll go in & explore–all the while watching the employee’s interactions with other customers, and each other…I look in nooks & crannies for “super specials”, comparing quality & pricing, as well as sources (which country my consumerism is supporting). If I like what I see, I return as much as possible to provide my support, and will always tell my friends of my discovery–they know I don’t refer without good cause, so my personal support of a local biz usually comes with a following.

Coupons usually end up torn to shreds before I even remember that I have them in my ‘monster bag’, or the opportunity to shop doesn’t always coincide with the expire dates, or they get left on my table, even if enroute to the store…of little use to me, personally.

I like feeling “special” to a local shop, because I do know that my support is important…things like a special ‘midnight madness’ sale for regular customers, who can bring friends…coffee/tea & cookies are always nice, esp. Around holidays, if they bag my buys in nicer ways, like with handled paper bags with tissue–the shop name & info on one or the other, they get passed around more because I’ll reuse them to bring gifts or treats to little personal gatherings–more advertising!!!

Is that what you’re looking for??? Hope so!!!

Good Journey!!!

Are U.S. retailers more frantic to make sales than ever this year?

I live in a rural area, and do a lot of business through the mail. Every online mail order retailer I have ever done business with has been stuffing my mailbox (both in real life and online) with offers, coupons, sales… you name it.

A couple have even made sales calls to my home number “just to let you know about our special bargains.”

And this morning, December 25th, I’ve gotten a flood of “after-Christmas sales” offers.

Even though I know that most of them depend on the end-of-the-year period to make up a significant portion of the year’s transactions, I can’t recall a year when the sales approaches seemed more frantic.

Has the retail sector gotten out of recession? Or are they in more trouble than ever?
.

admin answers:

I think they are still in deep trouble, and that’s why they are so frantic to make sales, reducing prices, and bargaining. The problem exists because more people than ever are unemployed and people have generally become more frugal.

admin answers:

This actually is a newest marketing trend and most retailer trying to boost their online sales as its more cost effective in most situations. There is no date of any such discount vouchers (except if some retailer issues them on special occasion like anniversary etc). Since they want to keep and increase their online customer base, they tend to offer such incentives to potention buyers since they know you have already shopped with them and are a serious buyer.

admin answers:

On-line is obviously cheaper and as long as you stick to reputable vendors (for camera gear those include B&H, BeachCamera, Adorama, Amazon, and RitzCamera) the warranty & return policy will be identical.
Mind you, there are specialty shops and mom & pop shops where I don’t mind paying extra just to help keep them in business. You know, if you want a shop to still be around in 5 years do your part. And a specialized camera shop will provide better service: the staff can explain stuff, they’ll let you toy around with the gear, they’ll provide tips, etc.
As for Circuit City, if you decide to bypass the local shop, I’d go straight for the internet deal. To me Circuit City is just another department store. No love lost.
For the price difference you mentioned – $350 vs. $250 – I’d go with the internet store. Be careful though; this deal might be too good to be true. If you don’t know whether this internet vendor is 100% legit, do a quick background check here

http://www.resellerratings.com

where users grade stores from 1 to 10
and here

http://search.bbb.org

to see what the Better Business Bureau thinks.
Don’t give out your credit card information unless both of those sites give the store a thumbs up.

Retail Employees… Do you like working in retail … what do you dislike about rude customers ?

Seriously, I am getting so close to just not giving a damn if i loose my job for punching a customer. Why do some customers have to be so damn rude ??? My husband is in the military as an enlisted and so close to becoming an officer but why do many wives wear their husband’s rank. Like only because your husband is an officer does not make you one… I really don’t have to check for a military ID and then they just ask ” do i have to show my ID ” ? And then i say it is not necessary anymore …. but still pull out their freaking ID shoving it on my face like saying look..look.. look at me my husband is an officer i get special treatment !!!

I also hated when they buy an item that is worth less than what they got on and still request to triple bag it just to make sure it does not brake, like we are responsible if it does not make it out of the store
IT IS NOT OUR FAULT IF YOUR ASS IS SO CLUMSY… in that case just purchase it online and it will be delivered to your house safely.

I hate when they are not pleased because we cannot accept printed coupons or we don’t carry the cigarettes they want … we only carry the Soft pack

First of all i really don’t care if you threatened me to shop elsewhere that would make my day because i still get my paycheck and i will never have to see your ass in the store again… do me that favor !!!

I hated when customers pay with cash and throw it on the counter not even close to your hand … it’s like saying come and get this money this is what you work for… also please it is almost 2009 why do you still pay with a freaking check ???

And Why is it when they get upset they say ” If it wasn’t for us shopping here you would not have a job “….

excuse me … I am not dying to have this job and this job is not the only job i can get …

I just wish that they can put themselves in our situation and see that dealing with customers on a daily basis is harder than cleaning shit…i would much rather do that then deal with customers all day…This is abuse that we have to endure everyday because they can curse you out, call you out of your name, and you are not even allowed to say ANYTHING back !!! That is considered verbal abuse… what do you think… i would like to know some of your experiences.

I like helping customers… i even go the extra mile to help them out… when i’m on brake people ask me about products or show them where to find them and on my brake i still do it. I also have deployed to kuwait with AAFES because I like helping our soldiers… i just dislike the lack of respect they have towards associates we also work very hard…i spent more than 12 hours working sometimes we only had one meal it was so freaking hot in kuwait and to come home to this ????
This is a question for people that can relate and if you can’t … then this is not a question you should answer !!!

First off, yes, it is very rude. Yes people should not have to put up with arrogant people just because of titles. But it is not just in the retail world that this injustice happens. I have been a nurse for over twenty years and you should see some of the abuse I and some of my coworkers have had to take from patients and their families. Some we know are in pain . Others are well…….Usually they think a nurse or CNA is a house maid to be at their beck and call . I sometimes may have as many as 32 pts. When working at a nursing home passing meds. Doing treatments, charting, emergencies, dealing with doctors, families, and any calamities that may arise. Plus admissions and discharges etc. People can be horribly rude.Yes ma’am I do understand so well with you. I just have to smile do my job . Sometimes you just have to grit your teeth and smile pleasantly at them. It’s taken me along time to learn how to do this. But just consider the source of where it is coming from. Maybe that’s all she has is her husband’s rank. Maybe she has nothing else! Maybe she is really shallow , or lonely, or bad marriage or who knows what. Just don’t let them get to you so bad.

Everybody probably won’t save as much as you might see on some TV programs, but you can save money that you can spend on something else. Each store makes their own rules as to coupon use, sales and combining offers.

Coupons are available in many forms. If you want an explanation of how coupons work, some coupons and direct manufacturer links try the blog “Real Savings for You with Coupons.” No e-mail address or sign ups required on the blog.
